Golf: Cowboys Win Title

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. ( – Oklahoma State's men's golf team earned its second tournament title of the fall season on Tuesday morning, defeating Georgia Tech, 4-0-1, in the championship match at the Hooters Collegiate Match Play Championship being held at Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort.

The second-seeded Cowboys breezed past the top-seeded Yellow Jackets en route to their first-ever win at the event. OSU was dominant in the tournament, winning 15 of its 20 individual matches on its way to a 4-0 record and its first team title since winning the Ping/Golfweek Preview in September.

"This is a fantastic tournament," said Oklahoma State assistant coach Alan Bratton. "This was my first experience with this event and I really like the format because it is so competitive. A tournament like this allows you to learn so much about your players. This type of format helps us teach our players how to play better in stroke play in a very competitive environment. It is a great way to wrap up our fall season."
