Wrestlers Travel to Minnesota

STILLWATER, Okla. (www.okstate.com) ?– Oklahoma State?‘s wrestling team will travel to Minnesota for a showdown with top 10 teams at the Sports Pavilion in Minneapolis, Minn., on Sunday, Dec. 5 at 2 p.m.

The top ranked Cowboys boast four wrestlers ranked No. 1 at their weight class. Jake Rosholt joined Zack Esposito, Chris Pendleton and Steve Mocco as the nation?‘s top ranked wrestlers this week.

Daniel Frishkorn also moved into the national rankings this week at No. 7. Frishkorn won the only two matches he has wrestled thus far over a pair of ranked wrestlers.

Third-ranked Johny Hendricks will have a rematch with No. 11 Matt Nagel. Hendricks defeated Nagel in the finals of the Kaufman-Brand Open, 4-3, on Nov. 20.

Mocco will also once again have a chance to prove that he is the top heavyweight when he wrestles second-ranked Cole Konrad. The pair met on Nov. 22 as part of the NWCA All-Star Classic, with Mocco winning a 2-1 overtime decision. That match is not reflected on records or rankings.

Minnesota will send five wrestlers to the mat who are ranked 12th or better. Konrad leads the way at No. 2, while 125-pounder Bobbe Lowe is ranked sixth. Neither wrestler has lost this season.

Mack Reiter has made a big push in the rankings to No. 12. Reiter is 12-1 with his only loss coming to Cowboy freshman Nathan Morgan in the finals of the Kaufman-Brand Open.

This is the first of four straight road duals for the Cowboys before they are home again on Jan. 6 against Michigan State.
