Bajema, a 6-foot-5, 265-pound senior from Moore, was the Cowboys' second-leading receiver this season with 18 catches for 264 yards and one touchdown. It is the second award for Bajema this week. On Monday, he was named to ESPN The Magazine's Football Academic All-American first team.
Joining Bajema on the All-Big 12 team is Mayes, a three-year starter on the offensive line. The 6-foot-3, 330-pound Mayes played a major role in tailback Vernand Morency rushing for 1,454 yards in just 10 games this season. Mayes has started 36 of 37 games the past three seasons.
OSU players receiving second-team All-Big 12 recognition by the AP were Morency and safety Jamie Thompson, who leads the Cowboys with 81 tackles (21 unassisted).
Receiving honorable mention recognition were offensive center Chris Akin, offensive tackle Kellen Davis, offensive tackle Corey Hilliard, wide receiver D'Juan Woods, all-purpose player Prentiss Elliott, linebacker Paul Duren, cornerback Darrent Williams and punter Cole Farden.
