Recruiting: Jon Cooper

Fort Collins, Colo., offensive lineman Jon Cooper is a great kid to talk with. The 6-3, 270-pound center and guard prospect said he and his family were taking the night off after a visit this weekend to Oklahoma State and in home visits from coaches at Oklahoma and Oregon when he got home on Sunday.

"It's a good problem to have (all the attention)," said Cooper.

I first asked him about his visit this weekend which he and his father went on to Oklahoma State.

"It went really well. I enjoyed myself," said Cooper of the trip to Stillwater. "I really enjoyed hanging around with the guys. I felt like I fit in. David Koenig was the player that showed me around and we got along great."

Cooper said he doesn't have an order right now following visits to Iowa State, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. In fact, he added that he won't really sit down and try to come to a decision until he finishes up with visits to Missouri (12/10) and Wisconsin (12/17).

"I did try to schedule all of my visits to be over with before Christmas, and yes, I plan to have a decision and tell my parents and friends where I will be heading before Christmas Day," explained Cooper.

When asked if that was a Christmas present to the family, he laughed and said, "I guess it is."
