Recruiting: Jeremy Broadway

Jeremy Broadway spoke with Stacey Dean of Broadway is on his official visit to Texas Tech. That is a new one, but Broadway told us that he had a deal with OSU assistant Joe DeForest, who is recruiting him, that he would take some visits but come to OSU for his last visit. Here is what he told Dean.

Houston Washington WR Jeremy Broadway is one of my favorite kids to talk to and just so happens that he's opened up his recruitment again, which means we'll be chatting again. We scouted the 5-11, 185-pounder at his school in the spring, not to mention at two different combines. Whoever gets this kid is going to be extremely happy as B. Way is not only a great athlete (Texas Hot 100 #54), he's a great person with a wonderful personality too.

"I'm actually in Lubbock right now on an official visit," Broadway told "I got here Tuesday and will leave Thursday. I'll let you know everything about it after I get in Thursday."

With his commitment now just a soft verbal to Oklahoma State, the Red Raiders have thrown their name in the hat with the hopes of landing a very respectful, yes-sir, no-sir kid who can absolutely fly.

Scouting him at the Houston MSL Combine, B. Way clocked the fastest 40 that day with an NFL-timed 4.49, on a somewhat slow surface (that has a lot of give). Two weeks later, at the All-Greater Houston Combine, we went to check him out again to see if he could lower that 40-time. On the same surface (Houston Indoor rolled-out turf), kid blew it up with a 4.42. Make no mistake his speed is something that would come in handy in the Mike Leach O should he elect to ink with Tech, or anybody's O given his ability to stretch the field.

At this time, he's on a Texas Tech official (12/7) and has two remaining official visits: "Wisconsin (12/10) and Oklahoma State (1/14)."

"He's really trying to figure out what he's going to do," said B-Way's mother. "His heart is with Oklahoma State, but he's not totally 100 percent. He just wants to make sure that he's making the best decision he can."

As I said above, we'll be chatting with the 3-star burner again and we'll keep you informed throughout.

Other impressive combine numbers: 20 bench reps (showing excellent strength to fight off press coverage), 8'11'' broad jump (showing very good burst and explosion).
