Recruiting: David Dixon

David Dixon, the Defensive Player of the Year in the Jayhawk Junior College Conference, did not visit Oklahoma State this weekend. The linebacker from Hutchinson (Kans.) Community College registered a whopping 161 total tackles this past season. He ended up staying behind in Hutch while Hutchinson defensive line teammates Josh Pinaire and Willie Williams made their visits to Stillwater.

"I stayed here to concentrate on and study for my finals," said the 6-2, 235-pounder who runs a 4.45. "My final three schools has changed though. It's now Arkansas, Oklahoma State University and Iowa."

Dixon said he will make all of his visits to the trio of schools in January, and that right now his total focus is on getting the job done in the classroom. He is very humble about his accomplishments on the field, which for a defensive player were the best anyone could remember in Jayhawk Conference annals. He also had over 40 tackles for losses, 8.5 sacks, two interceptions, four fumbles caused, and five blocked kicks.

"I just wish we could have won a few more games and been the conference champ," said Dixon.

"I like all three of the schools I'm considering," he added getting back to recruiting. "It will all be up to how my visits go next month."
