Quinton Moore Commits to Cowboys

Quinton Moore, rated the 27th best prospect in the Southwest by Scout.com, told us tonight that he has pledged to Oklahoma State. The 5-11, 185-pound defensive back was fresh off an evening in the weightroom when he informed us that he had told Oklahoma State assistant Joe DeForest that he was committed to the Cowboys.

Moore, of Pearland, Texas, was the District 24-5A Defensive MVP this season. All that while not getting an interception, but that was primarily because few passes were thrown his way.

"I made up for it by chasing down a lot of running backs and receivers," said the speedy Moore who some people have listed as a 4.3 in the 40-yard dash.

Moore is listed as the 26th best prospect in the Scout.com Southwest Top 100. He was also listed as a second team defensive back in Texas Football Magazine's Super Team. So what was the reason that Moore chose OSU over the likes of Arizona, Kansas State and TCU?

"It was mainly coach DeForest and coach Miles," said Moore. "I felt real comfortable with them and they explained to me how they would help me as a football player, but also how they would help me with my books, my academics, and make sure I got my degree."

Moore has the size and strength to play safety, but the speed and hip turn to play the cornerback position.

"They (OSU) didn't tell me where I would play," Moore said. "They said that will be depending on me, and where I could be used to help the team, and that's fine with me."

Moore still has an offcial visit to Stillwater which will be on January 14, and he has a date with the SAT test the next weekend.
