Texas wide receiver Brandon La Fell (6-3, 175, 4.5, Scout.com's #30 WR) now says Nebraska (11/26 official trip) and Missouri (11/5) lead slightly over Oklahoma State, Miami and Texas A&M.
"It's really hard for me to say I have a top five let alone a leader right now," says La Fell, from Houston Lamar. "But if I have to say who they are it would be Nebraska and Missouri leading slightly over the other three schools.
"I really like it at Nebraska. And I could have the chance to play early there too. They already got some receivers that will be returning, but none that are better than me and the other players they're recruiting right now.
"It would be good for me at Nebraska. Plus, they got the #1 recruiting class in the nation, and I know they're going to bring in other players to make me better--I know that.
"Missouri is the team that I probably like the most. They already have receiver's like me size-wise, so I'd have no problem adjusting to their system.
"And they have a really good quarterback this year…one of the best. So I'd have no problem getting the ball. And I think coach (Craig) Kuligowski (defensive line) is a good guy.
"Miami's coaches are trying to get me down there on an official visit this weekend. I can't go though because of a basketball tournament. If they were to offer me I really think I would go there…I mean, it's Miami.
"I really have no interest in Arizona (9/25 official trip) anymore, so they're not in my top five. One of the coaches told me that they're out of scholarships so there's no way I can go there.
"I talked with some of the Texas coaches about two weeks ago, but they still haven't offered.
"I'm probably going to commit somewhere over Christmas break.
"I'm also being recruited by Baylor, Texas A&M, Houston, Utah, University of Texas-Arlington and Air Force for basketball. I'd like to play both sports in college, but it's all right if I don't. I'm leaning more towards football anyway."
La Fell says his last two visits will come down between these six schools: South Carolina, Miami (if offered), Mississippi, Mississippi State, Michigan State and Oklahoma State--no dates.
Final SR (8-4) stats: 46 catches/1,116yds/16 TDs; 70+ tackles/8INT-4 TDs; 2 PR TDs
2.9/720 SAT--retake unset; Dec 10 ACT unreported
Recruiting: Brandon LaFell
