Recruiting: Rashad Roussell

He hasn't made a visit yet, but Boutte (Hahnville) standout defensive lineman Rashad Roussell said he is now leaning toward West Virginia. How did this switch happen without him taking a visit?

"It was conversations with their coaches and I have friends that are up there," said Roussell. "My Dad lives up there too."

His father actually lives in Newport News, Virginia, but fairly close to Morgantown where West Virginia is located. Roussell made it clear that he will take his visits in January before making any decisions.

"I'm going to Oklahoma State on Jan. 14," said the 6-2, 270-pounder. "Then I go to West Virginia on Jan. 21, and I may go to either Ole Miss or Mississippi State on Jan. 28."

Roussell has been collecting honors since the end of the season as he was named Defensive MVP and first team all-district. He was also the Defensive MVP and first team all-metro, and he was named to the coach's all-state team.
