Recruiting: DeMarcus Granger

One would think the recent change of events at LSU and Oklahoma State would have some sort of bearing on DeMarcus Granger's decision but if so he sure isn't letting on to it.

The big 6-3, 325-pounder from Dallas (Texas) Justin Kimball is rated the No. 3 defensive tackle in the land and is a top priority for the Tigers, Cowboys and several others.

When Nick Saban opted to bolt to the NFL many wondered how big of an impact that would have on recruiting. Well, in Granger's eyes it will not have much of an effect.
,br> "I don't go to a school or not go to a school because of the coaches," Granger told Tiger Rag. "They come and go all of the time. They get better jobs so they move on. You should base your decision on the people who are there and that is the players."

At least LSU's replacement has some familiarity with Granger because Les Miles heavily recruited the star tackle at Oklahoma State and made a good impression on the big man.

"He is a good coach and a good man," Granger said. "Everybody got along with him when I went up there and the only thing I heard was that he was a good man."

Granger has three visits lined up in January to Oklahoma State (1/14), Texas (1/21) and Tennessee (1/2) before reaching a final decision. He already tripped to LSU and Arizona State but insists he is not close to eliminating anyone from his list.

"It all jumbles back and forth when I try to figure out my leader," he said. "After I take that last visit I'll put all of the positives and negatives together and see who sticks out the most."
