Cowboys Secure Commitment From Ricky Price

Ricky Price, a cornerback prospect out of Houston (Texas) Cypress Falls, confirmed Sunday night that he has changed his mind and has verbally committed to Oklahoma State. He previously had been committed to Missouri. The 6-foot, 175-pound cornerback made his decision during his official visit to Stillwater this weekend.

"I committed to Oklahoma State yesterday afternoon," Price said Sunday night.

When asked about his verbal commitment to Missouri, Price said, "Yes, I was but I called them and decommited yesterday."

Why Oklahoma State over Missouri?

"Because of all the corners they are losing," said Price, a cousin of St. Louis Rams running back Stephen Jackson. "The OSU coaches told me they could see me coming in and helping right away. As far as Missouri, they're not really into playing true freshmen.

"I had a great trip. I love the school. I love everything about it. Everything was brand new. It was really impressive."

Price also had some good news for OSU fans concerning Andre Sexton, his teammate at Cypress Falls who had committed to the Cowboys last summer but had reportedly been wavering since the coaching change earlier this month.

"He's still coming to Oklahoma State," Price said.

But what about the rumors that Sexton was wavering? "No, not any more," Price said.

Price said the current Cowboy players had nothing but great things to say about newly named head coach Mike Gundy.

"He's a real nice guy, and the players said they are really happy that coach Gundy was named head coach, that he's way better than coach (Les) Miles," he said. "The players said that he's going to be a great coach and that I couldn't have picked a better time to be coming to Oklahoma State. That's what I heard all weekend long."
