Recruiting: Noah Franklin

Noah Franklin got the answers he was seeking from the Oklahoma State coaching staff when he made his official visit to Stillwater this past weekend. The Vinita (Okla.) High School offensive lineman still considers himself an OSU commitment, but said Sunday night he will visit Arkansas next weekend.

"At this moment, coming off my visit, I'm real excited about Oklahoma State," said the 6-foot-4, 295-pound Franklin. "But I still feel I need to go to Arkansas next weekend and see what else is out there. I want to make sure (the decision to go to Oklahoma State) is the right decision.

"It was a good visit. I got a chance to finally meet the new coaching staff and got a chance to visit with them a little bit. I will say that I feel a lot more comfortable with where I'm sitting right now."

Franklin said he had the opportunity to visit with new head coach Mike Gundy, offensive coordinator Larry Fedora, offensive line coach Joe Wickline, and strength and conditioning coach Rob Glass.

"Coach Gundy definitely has a new plan that sounds like it's going to be a productive one and definitely going to move the university forward, at least football-wise," said Franklin. "I got to talk with coach Fedora some but spent more time with coach Wickline. I enjoyed both of those guys. I'm awfully glad they're the replacements."

Franklin said the coaches did give him an idea over the weekend of what the Cowboy offense will look like in the future.

"They are going to be running and gunning," Franklin said. "There's going to be very little huddle time. They'll get in and out of the huddle and up to the line of scrimmage. They'll run some one-back and no-back sets, but they're really going to try to speed up the tempo of the game through the offensive pace."

However, Franklin refused to say if he was leaning to OSU after the trip.

"It's really up in the air," he said. "I was open with (the OSU coaching staff). I told them I was planning on going down to Arkansas next weekend. It's completely up in the air."
