Recruiting: Jacob Lacey

I know it has been rumored on the message board this weekend, but we had to wait until we heard it from him and we did. Jacob Lacey, the offensive MVP at quarterback this season in District 11-5A for Garland (Texas) Naaman Forest, has changed his commitment from Kansas to Oklahoma State.

"I changed it two or three days ago," said Lacey. "Coach (mike) Gundy and coach (Doug) Meacham came to see me at my school and house and that is when I decided. I changed and committed to Oklahoma State for three reasons: coach Gundy, the players at OSU, and the depth chart and my opportunity to play in the secondary and play early."

Lacey is a talented athlete who is 5-10, 170 pounds and runs a legit sub 4.5 in the 40-yard dash. In seven games this season he rushed for more than 1,200 yards and 14 touchdowns and threw for 650 yards and a touchdown at quarterback.

Lacey was also recruited by a number of schools including Texas Tech, Wisconsin, Colorado, Iowa, Baylor, Missouri and Kansas State. He had originally committed to Kansas in mid-December.
