Recruiting: Felix Jones To Visit OSU

Felix Jones, the Tulsa World Player of the Year and the leader of the Tulsa Washington 5A runner-up season, is happy to be coming down the homestretch in recruiting. The 6-0, 200-pound multi-talented athlete has four good choices in Texas A&M, Tennessee, Arkansas and Oklahoma State. Jones will take a look at his final option this weekend.

"I'm going on a visit to Oklahoma State this weekend," said Jones. "I'll make my decision when I get home. I don't know when I'll have my mind made up, but I'll be ready to sign with one school on Wednesday. They are all good schools, and it will be a tough decision to make."

Jones said he had a good visit with A&M head coach Dennis Franchione this week. The other head coaches have all preceded Franchione in making the trip to Tulsa the past couple of weeks.

"I'm ready for it to be over," said Jones, who sounded a little tired on the phone.

Jones could play on either side of the ball in college, but it is hard to ignore his offensive prowess as he finished the season with 2,528 rushing yards and 48 touchdowns. He averaged 10.6 yards a carry this season and did it to some of the top defensive teams in Class 5A in the state.

"I really feel like I didn't do that much," said Jones. "It was a great season for our team. I had a great offensive line and they opened up the holes. They deserve the credit."

Jones previously visited Arkansas (1/21), Texas A&M (10/10), and Tennessee (1/14).
