Spring Football Practice Will Begin March 5

New Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy is less than a month away from leading his squad in their first spring football workout. The Cowboys will begin spring football under the new staff on Saturday, March 5.

The March 5 workout will be the first of three practices scheduled before the players leave for spring break after classes on Friday, March 11. The remaining 12 practices of the 15 allotted by the NCAA in the spring will be conducted when the players come back from the break starting with a practice on Monday, March 21.

The Cowboy staff has designated two Saturday practices as scrimmages. The first is on Saturday, April 2, and the final scrimmage and practice is scheduled for Saturday, April 9.

Gundy has said that all of the spring practices will be open to the public.

"We will have Saturday practices at 11 a.m. or noon where people that want to be a part of Oklahoma State football can sit in the stands and watch us practice," said Gundy when asked recently about fans' opportunity to watch practice. "Those will be our practices with the most contact. Everyone of the practices in the spring will be open."
