Future Cowboys Begin High School Playoffs

Four of the five high school players who signed a letter of intent with Oklahoma State in November began postseason play on Friday night. Gerald Green plays for Houston's Gulf Shores Academy, which does not compete in the University Interscholastic League and is not eligible for postseason play.

Eaton and his Lincoln teammates defeated West Mesquite, 69-59, in a Class 4A Region II game Friday night. Eaton scored 14 points in the victory for third-ranked Lincoln ( 25-6).

Harris scored a game-high 24 points, including the go-ahead basket in the final minute as ninth-ranked South Garland (26-4) defeated Lake Highland, 70-66, in a Class 5A Region II area game.

Flemings and his No. 1-ranked DeSoto team (33-3) advanced to the Class 5A Regional quarterfinals with a 68-49 victory over Hurst L.D. Bell.

Cooper scored a game-high 18 points for the second-ranked Class 3A Richwood Rams (31-8) as they defeated Menard, 61-32, in a first-round playoff game. Cooper's 18 points were punctuated by a couple of alley-oop dunks. The Rams play No. 7-ranked B.T. Washington in a 3A Regional playoff game.
