OSU-UT: Preview

Oklahoma State will host the Texas Longhorns on Eddie Sutton Court in the regular season finale for both Big 12 Conference teams. The eighth-ranked Cowboys will be attempting to extend their nation-leading homecourt winning streak to 30 games with a victory. Tip-off in the nationally televised game (ESPN) will be 8:05 p.m.

Oklahoma State enters with a 21-5 overall record and is tied for second place in the Big 12 with an 11-4 mark. The Cowboys are coming off a 69-63 victory over Texas A&M on Wednesday night. Texas, 19-9 overall, is tied for fifth place (with Iowa State) in the Big 12 with an 8-7 record. The Longhorns have not played since losing to Oklahoma 74-58 on Monday night. The game will be televised nationally by ESPN with announcers Brad Nessler (play-by-play), Dick Vitale (analyst) and Erin Andrews (sideline commentary).

The Cowboys are ranked eighth in both polls – the Associated Press Top 25 and the ESPN/USA Today Coaches' rankings. Texas is not ranked nationally but is listed in others receiving votes in both polls. OSU is No. 3 in the RPI (Ratings Percentage Index) that is used to help determine seedings for the NCAA Tournament.

After playing 64 times the all-time series between the two schools is tied 32-32. OSU holds a 14-10 edge in games played in Stillwater. The Cowboys have won five of the last seven games played in the series. The Longhorns lead the series, 13-8, since the Big 12 was formed in 1996-97.

It's Senior Day and OSU's six seniors – Daniel Bobik, Terrence Crawford, Joey Graham, Stephen Graham, John Lucas and Ivan McFarlin – will be honored in a short ceremony prior to the National Anthem. A longer ceremony will be held following the game... OSU will be looking to go undefeated at home for the second consecutive season. The Cowboys were 15-0 at Gallagher-Iba Arena last season and enter Saturday's game 13-0 this season. It's been 60 years – the last time was 1943-44 and 1944-45 seasons – since OSU (then known as Oklahoma A&M) went undefeated at home in back-to-back seasons... John Lucas is averaging 18.5 points per game (second in the Big 12 to KU's Wayne Simien) and Joey Graham is averaging 17.8 points (fourth in the Big 12). Lucas is coming off a season-high 27-point performance in Wednesday night's win over Texas A&M. Graham, who set a Big 12 record by making 39 in a row earlier this season is shooting 87.2 percent from the free-throw line. He has made 69 of his last 72 free throws (95.8 percent)... Freshman JamesOn Curry continues to show why he was inserted into the starting lineup nine games ago. He is averaging better than 30 minutes a game, scoring 13.0 points per game while shooting 56.6 percent from the field (including 59.5 percent from three-point range)... Ivan McFarlin can move into 10th place on the school's all-time scoring list with 19 points. The senior forward has scored 1,410 career points and currently is 11th. He needs 19 points to pass Olus Holder for 10th place, and 25 to move into ninth place ahead of Leroy Combs.

Daniel Gibson is pushing for Big 12 and National Freshman of the Year honors. He leads the Longhorns in scoring (14.7 ppg), assists (4.1 apg), steals (50) and minutes played (32.6 mpg). He has reached double-digits in scoring in 13 straight games entering Saturday's game. He recorded career highs in points (27), rebounds (10) and free throws made (10-of-12) in UT's 75-61 victory over OSU on Jan. 17 in Austin... Junior forward Brad Buckman has stepped up his game since Texas lost P.J. Tucker (academics) and LaMarcus Aldridge (injury) for the season in January. Buckman is second on the team in scoring (12.1 ppg) and leads the Horns in rebounding (8.3 rpg) and blocks (47). He became just the third player in school history to post at least 20 points and 20 rebounds in a game with his 27-point, 21-rebound effort against Colorado on Feb. 8... Texas has struggled since defeating OSU at home on Jan. 17, the last game that Tucker played before being declared academically ineligible. The Longhorns are just 5-6 in the 11 games since then, including this past Monday night's 74-58 loss to Oklahoma on Senior Night in Austin... UT senior Kenny Taylor (10.5 ppg) and OSU's John Lucas were teammates for two years at Baylor.
