Torre Johnson Selects OSU

Torre Johnson, a 6-foot-7 forward who earned All-American honors this past season at Garden City (Kan.) Community College, announced Wednesday morning that he will attend Oklahoma State, Garden City school officials confirmed.

Johnson selected OSU over Arizona and Tennessee.

Johnson, from Milwaukee, Wis., averaged 21.7 points and 8.7 rebounds for Garden City this past season in leading the Broncbusters to a 23-10 record . He also shot 52.1 percent from the field and 63.4 from the free-throw line. He blocked 42 shots.

He was just one of 10 players selected as a first-team National Junior College Athletic Association All-American.

As a freshman at Garden City, Johnson averaged 19.5 points and earned Freshman of the Year recognition in the Jayhawk Conference.
