Cowboys Get Mario Boggan

Oklahoma State added its third junior college signee in a week when 6-foot-7 forward Mario Boggan of Chipola College in Florida signed a letter of intent on Sunday, according to published reports.

Boggan averaged 21.5 points and 9.8 rebounds per game in helping Chipola to the semifinals of the national junior college tournament.

He originally began his collegiate career at Florida before ending up at Chipola.

"There were a whole list of schools that were recruiting him," Chipola head coach Greg Heiar told the Tulsa World. "He had everybody recruiting him."

Heair told the Tulsa World that Boggan selected OSU over Texas A&M, South Alabama, Mississippi State and USC.

Boggan was an AAU teammate of current Cowboy JamesOn Curry, who was Boggan's host during this past weekend's recruiting visit to Stillwater.

Boggan becomes the third junior college player to sign with the Cowboys in a week. Torre Johnson (6-7, 210 pounds) of Garden City (Kan.) Community College and point guard Jamaal Brown (6-0, 185) from College of Southern Idaho signed letters of intent with OSU last week.

They join a list of five high school players who signed last November to give the Cowboys what many consider to be the best recruiting class in school history. Those five are 6-10 Kenneth Cooper (Richwood, La.), 5-11 Byron Eaton (Lincoln H.S. in Dallas), 6-5 Roderick Flemings (DeSoto, Texas), 6-8 Gerald Green (Gulf Shores Academy in Houston) and 6-4 Terrel Harris (South Garland H.S. in Garland, Texas).
