Cowboys Clip the Eagles

Freshman outfielder Corey Brown's two-out two-run double in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted Oklahoma State to a 6-5 win over Oral Roberts in front of a season high 3,672 fans Tuesday night at Reynolds Stadium.

The Cowboys trailed 5-4 heading into the ninth before Steve Ptak and Chris Gutierrez walked to start the frame. Rusty Ryal then attempted to sacrifice bunt, but was not successful as first baseman Rene Recio threw out Ptak at third. Keanon Simon then struck out to set up Brown's heroics. He hit a 1-2 pitch to the leftfield wall off of ORU reliever Daniel Greenwalt (5-2) that scored both runners to win the game.

Oklahoma State improved to 31-18, while ORU fell to 30-16. The Cowboys closed out its home schedule with a 25-8 mark at Reynolds Stadium.

The win was the Pokes first ninth-inning comeback of the season as they had previously gone 0-14 when trailing after eight.
