Bedlam Game Moved to Nov. 26

Oklahoma State will play the annual Bedlam game against Oklahoma on the Saturday after Thanksgiving this season (instead of the originally scheduled date of Nov. 5), the Big 12 Conference announced Tuesday. The game will be televised by ABC, and kickoff will be either 2:30 p.m. or 7 p.m.

The current Big 12 television contract stipulates that OU play four games on the Saturday after Thanksgiving in the next eight seasons. The contract also states that two of those four games be played against the Cowboys.

OSU prefers to play the annual Bedlam game the week of Thanksgiving. But after losing to the Cowboys in back-to-back years (2001-2002), Sooner coach Bob Stoops insisted that the game be played earlier in the season.

With the switch, the Cowboys now have two open dates during the 2005 season. OSU will have open dates on Saturday, Sept. 24 (a week prior to opening Big 12 Conference play against Colorado), and on Saturday, Nov. 5 (a week prior to hosting Texas Tech at Boone Pickens Stadium).

OSU will now close out the season at home against Texas Tech (Nov. 12), on the road at Baylor (Nov. 19) and by traveling to Norman for the Bedlam game (Nov. 26).
