Recruiting Scoop: Two Special Visitors

The Oklahoma State coaching staff that is in the office and not on vacation is entertaining some special guests as two of Texas best came to Stillwater with their parents to check out the OSU campus and football program.

Running back Michael Goodson out of Klein (Collins H.S.) and linebacker Donnell Williams of Houston (Madison H.S.) arrived Thursday evening and will spend Friday looking around on an unofficial visit.

Goodson is one of the Cowboys primary targets at running back and was at the Cowboys Houston satellite camp at Pearland High School. An all-state kick returner as a junior, Goodson had over 1,800 yards of total offense and 26 touchdowns. He is effective as both a runner and a receiver out of the backfield making him a perfect candidate for the new spread offense brought in by offensive coordinator Larry Fedora. Goodson is 6-0, 200, with 4.4 speed. He is considering a long list of schools including Texas A&M and Oklahoma where he has already made unofficial visits this summer. USC, LSU and Texas are also recruiting Goodson.

Williams is one of the top linebackers in Texas. The 6-2, 210-pounder can fly with 4.5 speed. His list of suitors is very long with Florida State, Arizona, Kansas State, Texas Tech, Texas, LSU, Iowa and Oklahoma State having all offered. A commitment from a player like Williams might close the door on linebackers in this upcoming class.
