8, Donovan Woods, QB
So., 6-2, 228, OKC (Millwood), OK
He went into spring the starter and exited as the starter. Woods did a good job of learning the new spread offense and ran it more efficiently than the other quarterbacks. He still needs work on his short and mid-range passing, but it was obvious he had worked to improve in that area since last season. He is still a strong leader, and he will work hard over the summer. He will be tough to pass for the other candidates. Highlights in the spring included his efficiency in the two-minute offense, simulated overtimes, and in the final scrimmage a 44-yard touchdown run on the scramble and a 25-yard touchdown pass on a first-and-10 in overtime.
