Recruiting Update: Unofficial Visitors to OSU

You can't get them all, and so far this summer Oklahoma State has been getting more than its share. They did lose a wanted prospect from Stillwater and NEO when Jeremy Gibbs decided to go with NEO teammate and defensive end Tim Johnson to OU.

Gibbs, a Stillwater High School grad that has really improved himself in the NEO program, opted for OU despite the fact that his real father has been a longtime OSU campus police officer. The 6-4, 280-pound Gibbs also considered Tennessee and UAB before deciding on OU and making a verbal commitment on Thursday.

This is the final weekend before practice begins as the squad will report on Wednesday and begin practice on Thursday, and head coach Mike Gundy and his staff are not wasting this weekend. There could be as many as three unofficial visitors touring the campus and talking with the coaching staff.

One that was on campus Friday was offensive lineman Matt Allen of Klein Collins. The 6-4, 285-pound Allen, a Top Texas 100 offensive lineman, did make a verbal commitment to LSU but decided in the wake of teammate Michael Goodson's public televised commitment to OSU to check out the Cowboys.

No report yet on who the two other visitors might be but there is likely to be a cornerback in the mix somewhere.
