Recruiting: Wesley Oglesby Names Top Five

Arlington Grace Prep defensive end prospect Wesley Oglesby told us he might make his decision before the start of the season or he may table it and wait to take official visits. The 6-6, 234-pound standout has weighed 12 offers over the summer and has narrowed the field to five.

"My top five is Cal, Duke, Arizona, Oklahoma State and TCU," said Oglesby from his home on Wednesday night. "I would like to make a decision before my senior season starts if I can, but if I need to make official visits then I will wait and take those."

Oglesby did offer thoughts on each of his top five schools.

"TCU is 20 minutes from my house, and that's a good thing," he said of the Horned Frogs.

"Arizona with Mike Stoops and some of those coaches from Oklahoma really know how to win and I think they will turn that program around. Plus they are losing a couple of defensive ends after this season," added Oglesby of the Wildcats.

"At Oklahoma State I really like the coaching staff, and Mike Gundy is going to take that program and make it even better than it has been," said Oglesby of the Cowboys. "They also have really nice facilities, the second best weather in the Big 12, and all that construction is neat."

"There was a player from our school go out to Cal a couple of years ago and he is a sophomore now and his brother is in my class," he said of a connection with Cal. "I think it's good to know somebody at a school. His brother is always talking me into going out there and his older brother says he really likes it and I believe him."

"Duke offers the really good education side of college, and I think their coaching staff is going to get that program going," added Oglesby about the Blue Devils.

Oglesby said that he made unofficial visits to all five of those schools over the summer.
