Al'Darius Thompson Picks OSU

North Mesquite running back Al'Darius Thompson gave his verbal commitment Thursday to Oklahoma State, keeping Mike Gundy, Todd Bradford and Co. in the headlines across the Lone Star State.

With offers from Boston College, Georgia Tech, Houston, Iowa State, LSU, Mississippi State, Purdue, TCU, Tulane, the kid had several options to mull over. However, ending the suspense in favor of the Cowboys was a no-brainer.

"I was looking for a program that graduates its players, a school I can get a good degree from, but one with a chance to play at a a place I feel comfortable at, and can relate to the coaches and players," said Thompson. "To be honest, OSU was really a no-brainer."

But the position he'll cut his teeth at in D-I, is up for debate. Film study had the 5-9.5, 164-pound RB showing off shake-and-bake athleticism and the speed to attract offers as a scatback, wideout, cornerback and safety.

"I'm coming to Stillwater to play wherever they need me the most," Thompson stated. "Whether it's at wide receiver or DB, I'm going to compete for a spot, and have fun doing it."
