"It was my official visit, and it went great," said Perkins. "The visit confirmed my commitment and I'm good to go next summer for summer school in June or July, whenever it is they want me to come. Phillip Friess was the player that showed me around and I got to meet a lot of the guys."
Perkins said he likely won't make it back to Stillwater before next season, but he is hoping to catch Oklahoma State when the Cowboys play at Texas A&M in October. Perkins, who is 6-5, 270 and runs a 4.9, was a sleeper that the Cowboys discovered and offered almost immediately in their satellite camp in the Dallas area at Richardson Berkner High School. Associate head coach Joe DeForest is the Cowboy staff member that recruited Perkins.
Perkins said Alice is off to a great start at 3-0 and will host Corpus Christi Tolosa-Midway in a 4A District 31 game on Thursday.
