How The Future Cowboys Fared - Week 5

Defensive players came up with the big plays in games played this week. Irving MacArthur's Jeff Bereuter and Justin Gent, and North Cobb High's Eric Norwood (pictured above) were impressive in games for their respective teams. Many of OSU's commitments – those from the Houston area – did not play this week because Hurricane Rita forced their games to be postponed.

JEFF BEREUTER, LB (6-3, 206)
& JUSTIN GENT, LB (6-2, 210)

Irving MacArthur (Irving, Texas)
Gent and Bereuter both made big plays Friday night as Irving MacArthur defeated Hurst Bell 21-17 to improve its record to 4-0. Hurst Bell was threatening with less than two minutes to play when Gent sacked quarterback Joe Mauro on a fourth-and-goal play to preserve the win. On the first play of the game, Bereuter picked up a Hurst Bell fumble and raced 9 yards into the end zone for a touchdown to give MacArthur a 7-0 lead. Next: Friday, Sept. 30, vs. Coppell.
