Recruiting: Jamaal Evans Setting Visits

Jamaal Evans is going to leave Irving High School as the school's all-time leading rusher and that is saying something since former Irving star Tyson Thompson is now playing across town at Texas Stadium for the Cowboys. Evans is one of the top-rated running backs in Texas and the nation and in recent weeks has shown a solid interest in Oklahoma State, and they have shown the interest too.

Evans has set one offcial recruiting visit for Dec. 9 to Iowa State and says he is looking to set dates with Oklahoma State and Georgia Tech. Evans has repeatedly said -- and he is sticking with it -- that he will take all five of his recruiting visits before making a decision.

However, recruiting is not his highest priority right now. Irving dumped Grand Prairie 38-7 on Friday and Evans had another big game.

"Right now, all I have on my mind is winning the state championship," said the hearlded running back. "Recruiting will happen but winning the championship is right here and now. I need to focus on that."
