How The Future Cowboys Fared - Week 6

Throughout the high school football season we'll be following the 14 players who have verbally committed to sign with Oklahoma State next February. Here are the results from the sixth week of the high school season.

JEFF BEREUTER, LB (6-3, 206)
& JUSTIN GENT, LB (6-2, 210)

Irving MacArthur (Irving, Texas)
Irving MacArthur used a 68-yard return of a blocked field goal with 32 seconds remaining to defeat Coppell 24-17 on Friday night to end its regular season winning streak to 19 games. Irving MacArthur overcame six turnovers (four interceptions and two fumbles) and 85 yards in penalties to improve to 5-0 on the season. Next: Friday, Oct. 7, vs. Irving.

DeMARCUS CONNOR, WR (6-2, 185)
Westfield High (Houston, Texas)
Westfield, ranked sixth in USA Today's Super 25 rankings, plays Monday night at Baytown Lee. The game was originally scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 22, but was postponed by Hurricane Rita. Thus, Westfield will now play four times in the span of 14 days – Monday at Baytown Lee, Friday vs. Baytown Sterling, Wednesday, Oct. 12, vs. Port Arthur Memorial, and Friday, Oct. 14, at Beaumont West Brook. Next: Monday, Oct. 3, at Baytown Lee.

DERON FONTENOT, S (5-8, 185)
South Grand Prairie (Grand Prairie, Texas)
South Grand Prairie improved to 5-0 with an easy 45-6 victory over Grand Prairie on Friday night. South Grand Prairie led 14-0 at the end of the first quarter and 35-0 at halftime. Next: Friday, Oct. 7, at Hurst L.D. Bell.

Klein Collins (Klein, Texas)
Goodson was held to 24 yards rushing on 11 carries – although he did have a 34-yard run – as Kelin Forest defeated Klein Collins 25-13 on Friday night. Goodson was held to negative rushing yards on six of his 11 carries. He also caught one pass for 15 yards as Klein Collins saw its record drop to 1-3. Next: Friday, Oct. 7, vs. Conroe.

Carter High (Dallas, Texas)
Carter returned to the field for the first time in two weeks and routed Bryan Adams 47-13 on Friday night. Carter, now 5-0, scored on its first two possessions of the game and never looked back in building a 28-0 lead in the third quarter. Next: Saturday, Oct. 8, vs. Molina.

SHANE JARKA, DE (6-3, 230)
Fort Bend Austin (Fort Bend, Texas)
Playing for the first time in 15 days because of Hurricane Rita, Fort Bend Austin saw its undefeated season come to an end with a 24-14 loss to Kempner. Fort Bent Austin's third quarter touchdown was the first TD allowed by Kempner's defense since the first week of the season. Next: Sat., Oct. 8, vs. Dulles.

Jersey Village (Houston, Texas)
Jersey Village's game against Cypress Ridge scheduled for Saturday night has been moved to Tuesday night, Oct. 4. Next: Tuesday, Oct. 4, at Cypress Ridge.

ERIC NORWOOD, DE (6-2, 251)
North Cobb High (Acworth, Ga.)
Norwood and his North Cobb teammates captured their first victory of the season with a 21-14 win over Sprayberry on Friday night. Norwood was credited with two sacks in the game. Next: Friday, Oct. 7, vs. Marietta.

TRENT PERKINS, OL (6-4, 285)
Alice High (Alice, Texas)
Allen ran its record to 5-0 with a 26-16 victory over Rockport-Fulton on Friday night. Next: Fri., Oct. 7, at Flour Bluff.

JACOB SECREST, OL (6-4, 280)
Stillwater High (Stillwater, Okla.)
Secrest, nursing an injury, did not play but the Pioneers still won their fourth game in a row with an impressive 38-7 victory over previously undefeated Sapulpa. Next: Friday, Oct. 7, at Tulsa Union.

North Mesquite (Mesquite, Texas)
Thompson, who was not expected to play because of a broken foot which kept him out of the previous week's game, entered midway through the second quarter and finished with 76 rushing yards on 17 carries but it wasn't enough as North Mesquite suffered a 13-10 overtime loss to rival Mesquite High School. Thompson gave North Mesquite a 7-0 lead in the third quarter with his 1-yard touchdown run. Thompson carried seven times for 46 yards on the 10-play, 79-yard drive. But that would be North Mesquite's lone touchdown. Next: Friday, Oct. 7, at Mesquite Horn.

Madison High (Houston, Texas)
Madison, playing for the first time since Sept. 17, didn't appear to have any side affects as it raced to a 21-3 first quarter lead en route to a 38-17 victory over Chavez. The Marlins, now 4-0, play twice next week to attempt to recover from missing games caused by Hurricane Rita. Next: Tuesday, Oct. 4, at Lamar.

Bryan High (Byran, Texas)
Woods was injured early and never returned as Bryan suffered a 35-11 loss to eighth-ranked Copperas Cove on Saturday night. Next: Friday, Oct. 7, at Killeen Harker Heights.
