How The Future Cowboys Fared - Week 7

Throughout the high school football season we'll be following the 14 players who have verbally committed to sign with Oklahoma State next February. Here are the results from the seventh week of the high school season.

JEFF BEREUTER, LB (6-3, 206)
& JUSTIN GENT, LB (6-2, 210)

Irving MacArthur (Irving, Texas)
Irving MacArthur, ranked sixth in The Dallas Morning News' Class 5A area rankings, extended its regular streak winning streak to 19 games with a 21-14 victory over Irving on Friday night. Gent, a linebacker making a rare appearance on offense at tight end, scored what would be the winning touchdown when he caught a 3-yard pass from quarterback Matt Percie in the third quarter. Irving MacArthur improved to 6-0 on the season. Next: Friday, Oct. 14, at Irving Nimitz.

DeMARCUS CONNOR, WR (6-2, 185)
Westfield High (Houston, Texas)
Westfield, ranked sixth in USA Today's Super 25 rankings, did not play this weekend. The Mustangs defeated Baytown Lee 49-13 last Monday night in a game that was rescheduled because of Hurricane Rita. Westfield is scheduled to play two games this week – against Port Arthur Memorial on Wednesday and against Kingwood on Friday. Next: Wednesday, Oct. 12, vs. Port Arthur Memorial.

DERON FONTENOT, S (5-8, 185)
South Grand Prairie (Grand Prairie, Texas)
South Grand Prairie, ranked No. 7 in The Dallas Morning News' Class 5A area rankings, dominated from the opening kickoff en route to a 42-7 victory over Hurst Bell on Friday night. South Grand Prairie's defense extended its streak of not allowing a touchdown to 10 quarters before Hurst scored against the reserves in the fourth quarter. Next: Friday, Oct. 14, vs. Irving.

Klein Collins (Klein, Texas)
Goodson rushed for 138 yards on just 10 carries and caught two passes for another 37 yards as Klein Collins defeated Conroe 38-35 on Friday night. Goodson did not score but had a 38-yard run which set up one of five Klein Collins touchdowns. Next: Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Oak Ridge.

Carter High (Dallas, Texas)
Hamilton and his Carter defensive teamates were outstanding – limiting Molina to six first downs and 49 yards of total offense – en route to a 48-0 victory on Saturday. Carter, ranked No. 3 in The Dallas Morning News Class 5A area rankings, broke the game open with 28 consecutive points in the second quarter. Next: Saturday, Oct. 15, at Samuell.

SHANE JARKA, DE (6-3, 230)
Fort Bend Austin (Fort Bend, Texas)
Jarka and his Fort Bend Austin teammates bounced back after suffering their first loss of the season a week ago. Fort Bend Austin, now 4-1, fell behind early before scoring 35 unanswered points en route to the 35-6 victory over Dulles on Saturday. Next: Saturday, Oct. 15, at Fort Bend Marshall.

Jersey Village (Houston, Texas)
Jersey Village, 1-4, will be trying to get back on the winning track Monday night after suffering a 27-17 loss to Cypress Ridge last Tuesday night. Next: Monday, Oct. 10, vs. Cypress Falls.

ERIC NORWOOD, DE (6-2, 251)
North Cobb High (Acworth, Ga.)
North Cobb lost to Marietta 35-7 on Friday night to see its record fall to 1-6 on the season. Next: Friday, Oct. 14, vs. Osborne.

TRENT PERKINS, OL (6-4, 285)
Alice High (Alice, Texas)
Perkins and his offensive line teammates did the job – allowing Alice backs to rush for 228 yards on 45 carries – but Flour Bluff rallied for two fourth quarter touchdowns for a 29-18 victory in a game between two unbeaten Class 4A teams on Friday night. Next: Friday, Oct. 14, at Calallen.

JACOB SECREST, OL (6-4, 280)
Stillwater High (Stillwater, Okla.)

North Mesquite (Mesquite, Texas)
Thompson scored on a 17-yard run with just 4:15 remaining in the game to give North Mesquite the 35-34 come-from-behind victory over Mesquite Horn on Friday night. Thompson finished with just 45 yards rushing on 17 carries, but scored three touchdowns to lead North Mesquite back from a 26-7 halftime deficit. He had a pair of 1-yard TD runs in addition to the game-winning 17-yard scoring run. North Mesquite improved to 3-4 with the victory. Next: Friday, Oct. 14, vs. Tyler Lee.

Madison High (Houston, Texas)
Madison took out its frustration from losing its first game of the season last Tuesday to Lamar (24-7) on an overmatched Austin High by the score of 74-0 on Saturday. Williams intercepted a pass and returned it 35 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter. Madison's defense did not allow Austin to cross midfield or get a first down the entire game. Austin finished with minus-40 yards of total offense (-43 rushing yards and 3 passing yards). Next: Friday, Oct. 14, vs. Westside.

Bryan High (Byran, Texas)
Woods did not play because of an ankle injury as Bryan suffered a 22-21 loss to Killeen Harker Heights on Friday night. Next: Friday, Oct. 14, at Temple.
