Recruiting: Houston Area Pledge Is Solid

Jersey Village safety and wide receiver Patrick Lavine says he's solidly committed to Oklahoma State. Lavine, who is 6-2, 200, and runs a 4.6 and could be a safety or linebacker in college, was one of the first commitments to Oklahoma State and helped key the early commitment landslide from the Houston area.

Lavine was one of the three pledges on KPRC-TV in Houston this summer along with Klein Collins running back Michael Goodson and Houston Madison linebacker Donnell Williams.

"I'm still committed to Oklahoma State," said Lavine. "I have schools that keep calling me, but I'm Oklahoma State all the way."

Lavine said he receives calls from Texas Tech, Baylor, Houston, Missouri and Ohio State.

"I still hear all the time from coach (Joe) DeForest at Oklahoma State," added Lavine.

He also said he had not picked out his date for his official visit.

Lavine said he is playing well, but is frustrated because Jersey Village is off to a 1-5 start. The Falcons, picked second in their district in the preseason, will try to rebound on Friday hosting Tomball.
