Recruiting: Gent Sold After Visiting OSU

After Saturday night's visit it would appear that Oklahoma State is going to have a pair of linebackers from Irving MacArthur signing in February. Justin Gent, a preseason second-team All-Texas Football Super Team selection, was on hand at Boone Pickens Stadium for Saturday night's game with second-ranked Texas.

"I thought it was great," said the 6-2, 215-pound Gent. "I had never seen so many people in one stadium before. It was great. We went on the walk and again there were so many people, and we were in the back but all these people were yelling out, 'Hey recruits, come here and play for us.' It was really a great time."

Gent said it definitely confirmed the commitment he made during the summer to Oklahoma State.

However, he did say like he told last week that he may take some other visits.

"I had one of my teammates from here last year tell me his one regret was that he didn't take any of his other visits," said Gent. "I thought it was good advice. You only go through recruiting one time in your life, and I've never flown so I want to make sure I take one trip where I fly."

Gent said he doesn't have any schools in mind to visit, and that he probably won't until after the 9-0 Cardinals finish up in the playoffs. They host Euless Trinity on Thursday in a battle to win the outright district championship.

"I really have all my focus on our season right now," added Gent.

As he should, but Saturday night he said he could see why Oklahoma State is in his future.
