Recruiting: Gary Flowers Commits To Cowboys

Gary Flowers, the 6-foot-8 forward who played with OSU freshman point guard Byron Eaton at Lincoln High School in Dallas, has committed to Oklahoma State after visiting over the weekend and is expected to sign during the early signing period Nov. 9-16, Greg Swaim is reporting tonight.

Flowers originally committed a year ago to Texas A&M, and is spending this school year at Mendenhall (Miss.). Genesis One, a prep school. He averaged 17.3 points and 8.6 rebounds a game last season at Lincoln High.

He visited Oklahoma State this past weekend and was one of several recruits in attendance for Saturday's afternoon Orange-Black scrimmage played in front of 10,448 Cowboy fans at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

Flowers joins Obi Muenelo as the second player to commit to sign with the Cowboys during the November signing period. Muenelo, a 6-5 guard from Edmond (Okla.) Santa Fe, gave his verbal committment last month.

Several other recruits joined Flowers and Muenelo at Saturday's scrimmage, including 6-7 forward James Anderson of Junction City, Ark., and 5-11 junior guard Keiton Page of Pawnee, Okla.
