"We should be able to win it," said Henley.
Henley said his recruiting is now pretty wide open as he has made visits to Utah ( Sept. 22) and Texas Tech (Oct. 15). He said he has had a bunch of scholarship offers come through and listed nine schools that he is now considering.
"My two visits went good," said Henley. "Both Utah and Texas Tech are good schools and the football programs are good. The teams are doing good. Right now, I haven't narrowed it down and I have offers from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, TCU, Ole Miss, LSU, SMU, and, of course, Utah and Texas Tech."
We asked him what he thought of the Big 12 schools.
"It doesn't matter if I play in the Big 12, but it would be exciting to be at a Big 12 school," said Henley. "Oklahoma is a big time school and a big program. Oklahoma State has several players from this area and Rodrick Johnson is a linebacker from here. The players there say they love it. This season they aren't doing that good, but I think that is a short time thing. Texas A&M is another good school and the coach there that is recruiting me, coach Pope, is from Galveston."
Henley said he will probably not make any more of his official visits until after Ball concludes its playoff run, and as of now he doesn't have any dates set up.
