Recruiting: Fred Garrin Has A Full Dance Card

Shephard, Texas is located about 45 minutes west of Houston and the folks there had better get ready for some traffic tahnks to linebacker Fred Garrin. Garrin is a player that has came from off the radar screen to get plenty of attention. The 6-2, 217-pounder has excellent speed and knows his way around the football field, finishing with 90 total tackles this season, 20 tackles for losses, a sack and an interception. As a result he goes into December with a full dance card of recruiting visits.

"It's going good," Garrin said of recruiting after describing himself as an aggressive player that likes to make a stick. "I'm not sure about the schools as of yet, but I am going to take my visits to find out more about them and see what they have to offer me."

Garrin will start his visits on Dec. 3 at Arkansas with Iowa State (Dec. 10), Missouri (Dec. 17), Oklahoma State (Jan. 13) and Arizona (Jan. 20) to follow.

"I'm going to take all my visits," Garrin said of how long he expects the recruiting process to be for him. "I'm looking for a good education, a place that can develop me as an athlete, and a winning program. Iowa State and Oklahoma State have been recruiting me the most and Arkansas kind of got into the picture late."

Garrin said he was a Michigan fan growing up because he liked the helmets. He also said he wants to major in business and become a sports agent. If he doesn't need one then he will be one. Garrin is a new name in recruiting, but he is one that is rapidly becoming popular, just like Shephard, Texas will be with the college recruiters this winter.
