Recruiting: Goodson Impressed With Tech Win

"Man. Whew. Taking down Tech now that's amazing," said nationally ranked running back and Oklahoma State verbal commitment Michael Goodson of the Cowboys upset last weekend over 13th-ranked Texas Tech. "I talked to Bobby (Reid) after the game and found out he had a good game. They are showing signs now and when we get all the pieces of the puzzle together then it is going to be great."

Goodson was speaking through the yells and cheers at his little sister's basketball game. He said his 12-year-old sister is a pretty good athlete. "She may be," was his response when asked if she is the best athlete in the family.

Goodson's season ended at the end of the regular season with Klein Collins High School, and he is now fully into recruiting. The standout runner made a verbal commitment to Oklahoma State while appearing on Houston TV station KPRC this summer, but revealed this fall that he had told the OSU coaches that he would probably take a couple of other visits.

"I'm going to visit OSU officially, but we don't have a date set yet," said Goodson. "I'm going to California (USC) on Dec. 2 and I don't have a date set for Texas A&M."

Those appear to be Goodson's only official visits and he has said he is not entertaining visit offers from any other schools. While he has verbally committed to OSU and never backed off on it, there is always uncertainty when a prospect is still taking visits. However, judging from Goodson's reaction, the Oklahoma State win over Texas Tech appears to have strengthened the bond.
