Recruiting: Eric Norwood Raking In The Honors

North Cobb High (Acworth, Ga.) defensive end Eric Norwood is seeing a lot of honors come his way, and he said he is humbled by all of it. The 6-1, 240-pounder attended his high school team's banquet tonight and was honored as the Player of the Year. Earlier today he was notified that he made the All-County Defensive Team. He was recently contacted to play in the Georgia North-South All-Star Game to be played on Dec. 29 in Columbus, Ga.

"I'm really excited about all of it and being named Player of the Year at my school was a big thrill," said Norwood.

Norwood and his parents were visited Sunday night at their home by Oklahoma State assistant coach Todd Bradford.

"It was a great visit as he sat down with my parents and covered everything from academics to the stadium expansion," said Norwood. "It was very low key as we just all sat down and talked."

Norwood has talked about maybe visiting Auburn and South Carolina and he addressed that.

"I am a very solid commitment to Oklahoma State," said the outstanding defender. "I have some dates from South Carolina but I haven't set up anything yet. I'm looking at visiting those other schools just to make sure that I've made the right decision. I am committed to being a Cowboy."

Besides the upcoming All-Star game, Norwood said he will begin work early in January for track where he will compete in the throws and also use his 4.7 speed in some running events.
