Recruiting: Burks' Mississippi Driving Tour

Mississippi Gulf Coast C.C. standout wide receiver Tony Burks completed two-thirds of his recruiting checklist over the weekend and has one leg to go. Burks, a 6-4, 205-pound receiver with 4.5 speed got in his car and drove to Starkville, Miss., on Friday to further check out the Bulldogs.

"It was pretty good," said Burks, who previously had made an official visit to MSU. "I like it and I like the coaches," he added without going into great detail as he was driving back to Gulf Coast.

"Then I drove over to Oxford on Saturday afternoon," continued Burks. "It was the same deal. They showed me a good time, and now I'm driving back. I have one more visit left next weekend at Oklahoma State."

We didn't ask, but we'll assume that Burks will not be driving to Stillwater for that visit. Burks did say that will be it next weekend and then he will sit back and decide. The talented wide receiver is a December graduate from Gulf Coast and is truly excited about being a Division I player at one of the three schools come January. At this time he wasn't willing to name a favorite and said all three schools remain in the mix in his decision.
