Recruiting: Jarka's Visit Was 'Awesome'

Oklahoma State commitment Shane Jarka doesn't mince words when talking about his official visit to the Stillwater campus this weekend. "It was awesome. It was great," said Jarka, who visited with on Sunday night after returning to him home in Fort Bend, Texas.

The 6-foot-3, 235-pound defensive end/linebacker prospect from Fort Bend (Austin), Texas, said that OSU training facilities and weight room probably made the biggest impression on him. "Some of that stuff, the equipment in the weight room, was amazing," he said. "They have all kinds of high tech stuff that helps you get stronger and faster."

Jarka was hosted by Nathan Peterson and spent some time with fellow Cowboy commit Jacob Secrest. "I got to spend a lot of time with the coaches. I talked to coach (Joe) DeForest and coach (Nelson) Barnes and talked to (defensive coordinator) coach (Vance) Bedford a lot," he said.

"My parents definitely loved it," he said. "The trip was more for me to make sure I was absolutely sure that's where I wanted to go. After this weekend my feeling is even stronger now. It was just amazing."
