Recruiting: Lavine Talks About OSU Trip

Patrick Lavine, making his official visit to Oklahoma State after committing back in the summer, left Stillwater with a good feeling. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound linebacker prospect from Jersey Village High School in Houston visited with about this past weekend's trip to OSU.

"I really didn't have a lot of questions but I did enjoy the trip," said Lavine, who was hosted by Cowboy freshman Ricky Price, whom he played against a year ago when Price was a senior at Cypress Falls High School in Houston.

"It was a little bit more than I expected. One thing that impressed me was how the whole athletic department is trying to improve. I was impressed with the stadium, Boone Pickens Stadium, and what they're doing there," he said.

Lavine maintains nothing has changed and that he still considers himself an Oklahoma State commitment. However, like several other Cowboy recruits, he is considering taking another visit or two although he says no trips have been scheduled. He mentioned Texas Tech as a possible destination.

Lavine said he enjoyed meeting and talking to the Cowboy coaching staff, including defensive coordinator Vance Bedford. "He's got a good plan. Once he gets the players he'll be OK," Lavine said.
