Recruiting: Burks Picks Mississippi State

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College wide receiver Tony Burks made the decision Sunday that he will be a Mississippi State Bulldog. Burks had it down to the Bulldogs and Oklahoma State, but said another conversation with Bulldogs head coach Sylvester Croom made the difference.

"Coach Croom told me the situation again and how things are going there," said the 6-4, 210-pound Burks. "He explained to me again what all they have going on with the football program, and besides I've got a really good relationship with Coach Croom."

Burks said it was a no-lose decision to make and complimented Oklahoma State, saying he knows that Coach (Mike) Gundy and Coach (Larry) Fedora are going to have a lot of success with the offense at OSU.

Burks is a classy young man and a talented one too. There is no doubt that Mississippi State has a player who can make a big difference in their offense - more precisely in their passing game.
