Recruiting: McKinney Is No. 23

Myron McKinney, a 6-foot-4, 310-pound, offensive lineman, from Oklahoma City (Okla.) Putnam City North, says he has made his decision.

"Yes, I have committed to Oklahoma State," said the former Arkansas commitment. "I have told all the coaches (OSU, Arkansas and Missouri) that this is it for me. I am as sure as I have been throughout recruiting that this is the decision best for me."

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes was a major help for the Cowboys in getting the offensive tackle prospect. He is well aquainted with North Central Oklahoma FCA Director John Talley and, in fact, is scheduled to speak this weekend in Stillwater at an FCA gathering.

"I think OSU is the best place for me to develop in football and in my faith," added the devout Christian. "I talked with my family and we all figured that OSU was the best situation for me and my family and for me and my mother. This will be a lot easier for everyone."

McKinney has earned a number of honors including All-State from the Oklahoma Coaches Association and second team All-State from The Tulsa World. It is a good bet he will earn similar honors from The Daily Oklahoman. He is set to be an offensive tackle at Oklahoma State and physically is equipped to play at an early stage in his career.
