Recruiting: Broughton's Trip Clouds Decision

Georgia Military College cornerback Scott Broughton said he was pretty sure he knew where he was going to commit to Oklahoma State going into his weekend visit to East Carolina but he wanted to keep it quiet because he had promised to make a visit this weekend to East Carolina.

"I wanted to go on that visit to East Carolina," said Broughton. "They had been recruiting me for some time and I did say I would make a visit. I have several of my teammates from Georgia Military there and I wanted to see them."

What he didn't know was how making a visit can change things.

"It was cool," said the 6-1, 195-pound Broughton. "ECU made me feel like I felt at Oklahoma State. The coaches treated me the same way and made me feel like the coaches at OSU. I still feel like I need to commit to Oklahoma State, but I need some time."

So now Broughton, a first-team All-American who also visited Baylor along with the Pirates and the Cowboys, has a little more thinking to do.

"My mom wants me to go to ECU because it is closer, but I have to make the decision that is best for me," added Broughton.

Broughton, who is originally out of Huger, S.C., has legit 4.4 speed in the 40 and was third in the nation in junior college this season with 10 interceptions. He returned two of those interceptions for touchdowns, and also was credited with two blocked field goals on the season.

He spoke to us while getting ready to get on a plane and head back to Georgia Military College. When asked when we should contact him again, Broughton said he had our number and would call us when he had made his decision.
