Recruiting: Okung Say Yes to OSU

Oklahoma State was seemingly looking for one more offensive lineman to help complete its recruiting class and the Cowboys received just what they wanted today with the commitment of Fort Bend (Bush), Texas, Top 100 Texas prospect Russell Okung. The 6-4, 250-pound Okung is a good athlete that should work well in the future as a guard or perhaps tackle. He has outstanding quickness.

"Yes, I committed to Oklahoma State this morning," Okung said Friday afternoon. "I'm feeling pretty good about it, but you won't get much of my attention right now because I'm in the middle of something."

We said we would wait and get more attention later, but Okung's answer has to be cause for celebration with Mike Gundy and the OSU coaching staff, especially offensive line coach Joe Wickline. Okung was an All-Greater Houston selection and has also been considered one of the top offensive line prospects in Texas. He had narrowed his decision to OSU and Oklahoma before committing to the Cowboys.

Oklahoma State is now at 25 verbal commitments.
