Recruiting: Williams Painting The Town?

The last time Oklahoma State had an athlete that was into painting and art it worked out pretty well. Desmond Mason used his basketball education to go on to the NBA where he is now starring close to home with the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets. His artwork has been auctioned off at POSSE auctions. OSU linebacker commitment Donnell Williams is already enrolled at Oklahoma State. Right now he is not planning on any art classes, unless it is an elective, but it is something he enjoys doing.

"I've been doing it the last couple of months and it's something I do for fun, to relax," said Williams, who was one of the best defensive players in the Houston area the past two seasons at Madison High School. "I like to do characters and people that I know or run into," he added about the subjects of his painting."

As for his early arrival, Williams is glad to be at Oklahoma State and said he adjusted the very first day.

"I'm loving it and feel good about my decision to come up here early," Williams said. "Even the workouts, making me better and everything is going up and improving. It's all about getting better."

Williams is rooming with fellow newcomer Jonathan Lewis and second semester freshmen Jeremy Broadway and Quinton Moore. Williams said it helps that all four are from Texas, and that Broadway and Moore are from Houston and that Broadway is from Madison. He feels much more at home. He is also looking forward to the start of spring football on March 6.
