Recruiting: Cowboys Eye Texas Quarterback

Berkner High in Richardson, Texas, has become a hot bed for recruiting and this year is no different as the school boasts four Division I prospects. One guy to keep an eye on is quarterback Justin Johnson, who has already picked up one Big 12 scholarship offer. "Baylor offered me not too long after signing day," Johnson said. "I hear a lot from Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Florida State, USC, UNLV, Texas Tech, Kansas State, Kansas and Alabama."

The 6-foot-1, 210-pound Johnson rushed for more than 1,500 yards and passed for over 350 yards accounting for 27 touchdowns as a junior.

"Right now I really like Baylor, Oklahoma State, Florida State, Alabama, Texas and Texas A&M," Johnson said. "I am looking to see what each school has to offer and what majors they have because getting a good education is very important to me."

Johnson plays quarterback for his high school team, but it is still a question mark as to where he will play on the college level.

"Texas A&M and UNLV have told me that they like me as a quarterback," Johnson said. "Alabama, Baylor, Florida State and some of the others like me as a safety or an outside linebacker type. I've even heard some like me as a wide receiver possibly. It doesn't matter to me where I play I just want to have a chance to help my team win and make it to the NFL. If that means playing on the defensive side of the ball then I will do that. I'm just going to be looking at depth charts and see where I fit in best."
