Recruiting: Cowboys Offer Standout Texas Back

This year is an exceptional year for the running back in the state of Texas. It seems as though there is an endless supply of them and another name has emerged. Dallas Madison star Shawnbrey McNeal has already collected two Big 12 scholarship offers.

"I have offers from Oklahoma State and Kansas State," McNeal said. "I am hearing from Texas, Florida, Texas A&M, Baylor, Texas Tech and Oklahoma on a pretty regular basis too though."

The 5-foot-10, 180-pound McNeal grew up in Texas, but his allegiance didn't necessarily lie in the Big 12.

"I have always loved the SEC and I like a lot of those schools out there," McNeal said. "I went to Florida one time and I have always loved the Gators. I do like the in-state schools and some other Big 12 schools too though. My dad is a huge Texas fan, so I was raised on them too."

McNeal rushed for 1172 yards and 16 touchdowns on 133 carries in just 10 games as a junior.

"I want to play early wherever I go," McNeal said. "I also want my family to be able to come and see me play wherever I go. I am really just looking for the best opportunity for myself."

McNeal plans to attend the Scout.com combine at Baylor in March. He will be attending Texas' junior day on February 25 as well.

"I am going to take my time. I am not in a rush to make a decision," McNeal said. "My dad and I have already talked about it and I want to take some of my visits to make sure on things."
