Recruiting: Richetti Jones Enjoys Trip To OSU

Linebacker Richetti Jones of Dallas (Lincoln), Texas spent most of Sunday sleeping after a late night on his Junior Day visit to Oklahoma State and the drive back to Dallas on Sunday morning. Jones was able to hook up with former Lincoln teammate and current OSU basketball freshman Byron Eaton late Saturday night after the OSU-Baylor basketball game. While his son was sleeping Richetti's grandfather, PGA golfer Leonard Jones, did have some time to talk about their visit to Oklahoma State.

"It was a long day but we were pretty impressed with the campus and the program at Oklahoma State," said Mr. Jones.

This was the second of two straight weekends on the road for the Jones. Last weekend they were in Austin, Texas for Texas Junior Day.

"I know he (Richetti) has been impressed with both programs, but he's not at the point where he's ready to make any kind of decision," Mr. Jones said of the timetable for his grandson. "The education is the most important part of it to me. I want him at a good school where he can get a good education and graduate, get a good job, and provide for his family. I want a school where the coaches are more concerned about seeing him get an education and a degree."

Leonard Jones said his grandson right now seems to be interested in real estate, but said that could always change. he also said they would probably be taking some more trips.

"I think we would probably go see Texas A&M and Florida," said Mr. Jones. "Then maybe we would go to one other school, like Oklahoma."

We had to ask, as good as Richetti Jones is on the football field, he's called the "purple hulk," can he also play golf.

"He's a good athlete and yes, he can play golf," said his grandfather. "He hasn't picked up the clubs in a while, but he can hit the ball a distance."
