Spring Practice Notebook

The OSU coaching staff will host Football 101 for Cowgirls tentatively scheduled for Friday, June 2. The day long program will include detailed instruction on football schemes, terminology and strategy. Participants will be given an opportunity to see what life is like for Cowboy players and coaches. There are still details pending such as times and cost, but the event is a fun- raiser for starting a school in Stillwater to help special need students. The entire staff will participate.

Friday in Pads
The Cowboys are still scheduled to go in full pads for the first time this spring on Friday. The practice, scheduled to begin at 3 p.m., will have to be in Boone Pickens Stadium as a result of the Wednesday night snowfall. Stillwater and the OSU campus got approximately two and a half inches. Friday will also be "The Evening With the Cowboy Staff" for high school and middle school football coaches. It will include dinner, presentations and chalk talks following the practice.

Gridiron Greats
You may remember reading about the Gridiron Greats program in Wednesday's notes. The event will take place April 22, the weekend of the spring scrimmage, and Coordinator of Football Operations Jeremy Offutt, a former OSU player himself, said he mailed out more than 300 itineraries for the event. OSU fans could be seeing a large number of past Cowboy greats at the spring game next month.
